>> Friday Night Sound Waves is back again, this week featuring the sounds of the Derek Mack Band. 6:30-9:30pm at The Loop on Las Olas Oceanside Park. (Free)
>> Next Wednesday the 26th, make sure you circle your calendar for Multiple Pathways To The American Dream - a virtual for students, families, and career-changers who want to explore the many different good-paying opportunities here in South Florida that don't require a college degree. Hosted by Greater Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce's Workforce & Education Council, this annual event gathers thousands of attendees for its online zoom discussion. (Free)
>> Saturday night is a chance to "get your Ghost on" with the Haunting On The River Paranormal Bootcamp. Host Tim is a regular supporter of this newsletter, so let's join him to experience a Ghost Tour like never before! Work with the experts and learn how paranormal investigators uncover the truth behind hauntings. (Paid)
>> On Sunday, stop by Esplanade Park from 10am to 4pm for Heal The Planet's 7th Annual Earth Day Celebration. Lot's to see and do PLUS, our Acton Academy team will have a table for you to make and take "Thumb Buddy Badges" to commemorate your day. (Free)
>> Sunday morning you can join the MADD Dash (or Walk Like MADD to help support the 11th annual campaign against intoxicated driving. The dayโs festivities will also include childrenโs activities, an awards ceremony, live musical performances and vendor/educational booths. The event will be attended by local dignitaries including Founder and Volunteer Chairperson Heather Geronemus. (Free & Sponsored)
>> Did you know that every 4th Sunday of every month at 12pm, MODS hosts sensory-friendly film screenings await individuals with autism spectrum disorder, sensory processing disorders and global developmental delays at the Museum of Discovery and Scienceโs AutoNationยฎ IMAXยฎ Theater.
To provide a more sensory-sensitive environment for individuals on the autism spectrum, the theater lights will be turned up and the sound will be lowered. All films will be presented in 2D. No trailers will be shown before the movie.
Audience members are welcome to get up, sing, walk, dance and shout without worrying about someone complaining. Families also are able to bring snacks from home, as well as blankets and other small items to be comfortable. (Paid)
>> Also on Sunday, from Noon to 4pm you can visit the Puppy Brunch at the Flamingo Flea Market, hosted by Tarpon River Brewing. This doggies takeover will feature groomers, dog walkers, vets, trainers, treats, doggie dentists, and so much more! (Free)
