FEATURED Fort Lauderdale

Fort Lauderdale is a vibrant arts community, with monthly Art Walks, Art Fairs that shut down main thoroughfares, and dozens of building-sized murals that brighten the day. Behind all this amazing art, are the artists who make it possible.

Next Wednesday (March 22nd) is an opportunity to meet one of those artists, as 14-year-old Victor Bevanda will be displaying his work at Plunge Into the Arts with Viktor Bevanda for Autism Awareness Month.

Victor is a 14-year-old who can't speak. Diagnosed with Autism at an early age, he hasn't let his limitation in comprehension and verbal abilities limit his artistic talent.

Viktor began to show signs of Autism at the age of 2. After a change in behavior testing led to a diagnosis of autism. By the age of 5 his parents began to take notice of his talent in art and within a few years his technique developed even though he was self-taught and he started to express himself through his art. He paints what he loves the most - animals and flowers. He is painting since he could hold a pen.

He proves Autism is no barrier to creativity. He has ability to focus on detail and he can understand how colors interact with each other.

He was raised in Serbia and his parents made a big step in their lives and moved to the USA in the end of 2018. He lives in Florida.

His artwork is available at vichysart.com

Thought Of The Week

If you read 30 minutes each day, in the course of a year you will read 30+ books. Over 50 years of lifelong learning, that will result in 1500 books! And that is less than .001% of all the books available (and growing) 😱 ~ Source: Sloww.co
