So... You Think You Know Fort Lauderdale?

You probably know... Fort Lauderdale was known as a sleepy getaway destination until the movie "Where The Boys Are" showed it to the world as THE place to be for Spring Break (as we've written about previously). That movie put a former "pioneer" town on the map.

But you might not know is... speaking of Spring Break and beaches, not only do we have Fort Lauderdale Beach with its miles of white, soft sand, but most of Fort Lauderdale is one big beach. Twenty three miles in total (of the total 36 square miles).

Fort Lauderdale has six Blue Wave Certified beaches. Among other things, that designation indicates that they passed environmental standards for sustainability and cleanliness. The list includes Dania Beach, Lauderdale-by-the-Sea, Deerfield Beach, Hollywood Beach, Pompano Beach, and Fort Lauderdale Beach.
